Choosing the 'right' program of study

Choosing the right program for yourself is the initial great challenge. Prospective students can choose from hundreds of programs.

Choosing the right program of study for yourself is the the first and foremost step of this process. Prospective students can choose from hundreds of available programs according to their interests. However, they might get attracted to some programs just because of the social hype associated with them. It could also be the case that they get deviated towards a specialization which is of little interest to them or which they have no experience of. Please note that if you get distracted in this step, you might face negative consequences in the future.

Always be VERY clear about choosing the right program of study for yourself. Relax, sit alone, and realize what is it that YOU want to pursue? Make up your mind and then GO for it. DO NOT let anyone play around with your mind.

Searching for programs is EASY. Simply visit the official DAAD website and browse for International Programsfrom the top navigation menu.

Next, you will see a few programs on the main screen by default and appropriate search filters in the left panel.

These search filters are quite useful. I recommend testing them thoroughly to get an idea of their workflow. In the example image below, I tried searching for the Masters Programs in Data Science.

Tip(s):

After finalization of your program, I recommend fulfilling the relevant language requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, GRE) as soon as possible, since they seem to consume substantial time and effort.

Note(s):

Not all programs taught in German universities are listed on the DAAD website but most of them are. If you want to know details about a specific university or programme, then visit the university website and see the offered programs.

Fin.
