Searching for housing options

Now that you have received an admit, the first thing to do is search for housing and accommodation. In Germany, student housing is managed by the Studierendenwerk of the city. Every city has its own Studierendenwerk, for example, Studierendenwerk Aachen.

1. Simply visit the website of the city’s Studierendenwerk.

2. Search for relevant student housing near your university campus or market area. Meanwhile, get an idea of the estimated distances via Google Maps.

3. Compare the different features of the rooms.

4. Apply for a room.

For example, if you want to apply to Studierendenwerk Munich, simply find their website via google and apply for a room.

Note(s): 

• In general, due to the high influx of students, it is quite difficult to get accommodation in Studierendenwerk. You might have to look into private options.
