Applying for a Student Visa Appointment

Since Fall 2018, the German Embassy Islamabad has implemented a waiting list method for applying for a student visa appointment. You have to register for the waiting list and an appointment will then be allocated to you.

Steps to book a visa appointment

1. Simply navigate to the embassy's website and find the registration form of your respective category. It should look something like this:

2. Fill the form with your details and submit it. Make sure your details (name, email, passport number) are correct when you book your appointment.

3. Within 30 minutes, you will receive a confirmation email about the completion of the registration process. This email contains your appointment reference number.

4. You will receive the appointment email containing further details about the date and time of your allocated appointment. This email will include two links, one to confirm the appointment, and one to cancel it.

If, for any reason, you get the indication that you will not be able to avail your appointment, please cancel it ASAP so that other students benefit from it.

Please note that the procedure above is for the German Embassy in ISLAMABAD, where applicants hailing from Punjab and KPK can apply for a visa. The German Consulate General KARACHI supports a different format of booking a visa appointment via direct bookings and does not (usually) have a long waiting time associated with it.
