Notarization and Attestation

Official Notarizations and Attestations of your documents are necessary for successful admission and visa applications. Notarization is required when you apply via uni-assist, while Attestation is one of the requirements for student visa application.

Notarization

Notarization is a guarantee that your document(s) is/are valid and is usually done by a Notary Public at the Local City/District Courts. Lawyers are also able to notarize your documents for a minor fee.

Keep in mind that you always have to notarize copies of your documents and NOT the original documents.

Documents to Notarize:

• Bachelors/Masters Degree(s)
• Bachelors/Masters Transcript(s)
• Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) / A-Levels Certificates
• Secondary School Certificate (SSC) / O-Levels Certificates
• English Language Certificate (GRE, IELTS or TOEFL)
• German Language Certificate
• English Proficiency Letter
• Passport

Attestation

Attestation is a requirement for the student visa and can be done on both; original documents as well as their copies. For the purposes of visa appointment, it is mandatory that your academic degrees and transcripts be attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, as stated here.

Matric / SSC & F.Sc. / HSSC Certificates Attestation

• Attestation of Matric / SSC & F.Sc. / HSSC Certificates is done by the IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen). Details linked here.
• IBCC only attests documents which have been previously attested by your respective education board.
• For that purpose, visit your respective board office (Matric / SSC & F.Sc. / HSSC) and apply for the attestation of COPIES of documents.
• The board will take its specified time to attest your copies and return them in a SEALED envelope.
• DO NOT open the sealed envelope and just submit it along with your original documents to IBCC and they will attest your original documents.
• IBCC have their head office in Islamabad with regional offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

O-Levels / A-Levels Certificates Attestation

Not required for the purpose of German student visa.

O-Levels / A-Levels Equivalence Certificates Attestation

Not required for the purpose of German student visa.

Transcript Attestation

• Attestation of Bachelors / Masters Degree & Transcript is done by HEC. Details linked here.
• HEC has introduced its online portal for this purpose.
• Simply create an account on this portal, complete your profile, upload all the required documents for verification.
• The initial scrutiny of your documents is performed in due time.
• Once your application status is approved, you will then be able to book an attestation appointment online.
• For this appointment, you are required to present ALL your original academic documents at the respective HEC Office.
• Your documents will be attested and returned to you on the same day of appointment.
